So maybe on the surface this song (especially its title) could seem materialistic, "Please let me get what I want" could be seen to mean "please let me get all the gifts and stuff that I desire." I feel like you can also see it in another light, maybe "What I want" is what John Lennon wants in his song "Happy Christmas", namely an end to war. Maybe this is an infinitely less cheesy version of Wham's "Last Christmas", a lament for the heartbreak of Christmases past and the hope for a brighter future.

Either way, it's an awesome song with multiple possible meanings and I hope you enjoy it.
